Release Notes

What shipped, week by week.

A running record of everything we launch on SportsCal.ai — product, data coverage and the platform work behind it. Every week has its own link, so it is easy to share.

Week of Aug 18

August 18 – 24, 2026

My SportsCal shipped, the Premier League joined SportsCal, Matchups became a destination, and overnight data operations went hands-off.

Product
  • My SportsCal

One-tap Follow on every team page, given equal prominence with Add to Calendar. Followed teams collect on My SportsCal and on the homepage, and sync across devices with a one-time code — no email or account required.

  • Matchups as a destination

Standalone matchup pages with both teams' branding, schedules and head-to-head context. View Matchup now opens from the Next Game card and from any schedule row, and pairing respects level and gender so a JV row never opens the varsity game.

  • Upcoming and Previous

Schedules lead with what's next and keep completed games one tap away in a most-recent-first archive. Shared links to a single game land on the right view.

  • Varsity-first ordering

Every sport now defaults to Varsity, with JV and Freshman following in that order across pickers and pages.

Data
  • Premier League

All 20 clubs and 380 fixtures for the 2026-27 season, with club marks, W-D-L records and hourly score and kickoff updates.

  • Texas expansion begins

The Michigan metro pipeline was generalized for multi-state work and pointed at Dallas–Fort Worth, on top of a 1,682-school Texas registry.

  • State coverage meters

Each state tile on the high-school directory now shows how many of that state's schools are live on SportsCal.

Platform
  • Self-restarting ingestion

Ingestion runs from a leased queue with automatic retries and a scheduled worker, so a stalled job restarts itself instead of waiting for a person.

  • Exceptions and nightly operations

Refresh, validation, pairing and discovery write structured exceptions with a recommended action. Nightly automation handles validation, link audits, contest pairing and QA, surfaced on the operations console.

  • Logo sourcing and audit

Automated mascot-mark sourcing and color extraction with an approval grid, plus an audit trail that stops automation from overwriting a verified mark.

Fix
  • Identity guard against cross-tier collisions

A college and a high school can no longer collapse into one team — the Wyoming matchup mix-up is fixed and the guard prevents a repeat.

  • Duplicate schools merged

Ann Arbor Skyline and similar duplicates were consolidated, with name normalization and alias redirects preventing new splits during ingestion.

Week of Aug 11

August 11 – 17, 2026

The foundation week: a discovery-first homepage, single-game calendar adds, game pages, schedule intake and the first wave of national coverage.

Product
  • Discovery homepage

Rebuilt around search and browse by category, with popular teams ranked from real traffic instead of a curated list.

  • Add a single game

Subscribe to a whole season or add just one game to your calendar from any schedule row.

  • Game pages

Every game gets its own page with venue, directions, and a factual preview or recap.

  • Submit a schedule

A public intake form for schedules and athletic logos, with an internal review queue.

Data
  • National expansion

High schools across Michigan, California and Pennsylvania plus college coverage across the FBS conferences, the Big Ten and the SEC, alongside NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB and NHL.

Platform
  • Universal light theme and wordmark

A contrast-safe design system with per-team brand tokens, and the SportsCal.ai wordmark that takes on the team's colors on team pages.
